CHEVELLE

Chevelle es un trío de hermanos apellidados Loeffler. Todos autodidactas, Sam se hizo cargo de la batería, Pete de la voz y la guitarra y Joe del bajo. Empezaron con la idea de una banda en un subterráneo de Chicago. Joe fue el último en unirse a la banda ya que no estaba de acuerdo en que sus otros dos hermanos se dedicaran a hacer sólo covers; resultó que al entrar al grupo le imprimió esa dosis de jam que la agrupación necesitaba para poder escribir su propio material. Para Chevelle fue todo tan rápido que al año, llegando a 1999, ya habían grabado un disco que sonó bastante en radios independientes y universitarias, y que incluso llegó a tener dos hit singles que hicieron un crossover a radios más mainstream. Del aquel disco llamado "Point#1" surgieron el tema del mismo nombre y otro llamado 'Mia'. "Point #1" fue grabado, como buena banda de Chicago, junto al productor Steve Albini -famoso por sus trabajos junto a Nirvana y a los Smashing Pumpkins- y ya para aquel entonces sonaba como un grupo que quería emular el gran sonido de Helmet, Quicksand, Tool y Far, buenas cartas tenía Chevelle bajo la manga.

Les recomiendo mucho esta banda de verdad que es excelente...
